IN A matter of weeks, Supreme Counselling for Personal Development will hit the streets of Bridgetown to walk against bullying and all other forms of youth violence.
The event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. from Jubilee Gardens, on Saturday September 30.
Local radio personality DJ Kashi is encouraging Barbadians to attend the walk in their all white. He said the walkers will be making their way through the City, and it will end right back in Jubilee Gardens.
“Make sure you are there to support the cause, it is very important. It is all about rallying against bullying and youth violence, brought to you by Supreme Counselling for Personal Development.
“So remember, it’s a walk on the 30th of September. I’ll be there, DJ Timeless will be there, the Enterprise Squad, and you make sure you are there as well,” DJ Kashi said.
Shawn Clarke, the Chief Executive Officer of Supreme Counselling for Personal Development said the walk was inspired by the recent upsurge in violence among the youth, who seem to think that the only way to deal with resolving conflict is through the use of weapons.
“Come on out and join Supreme Counselling and join the young people of our country as we stand united together to show that we are against bullying; we are against youth violence in our country; and we want to eradicate all forms of violence that will put our young people at risk and that will put our citizens at risk.”
Clarke said there will be a number of specially invited guests from the United States as well, who will be delivering anti-violence speeches.
