China has set itself an agenda that it will work on enhancing its international relations.
This is according to Political Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires, Zou Xi, who stated that this is one of the goals that the Communist Party agreed upon at their 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China, which recently took place in that country.
Speaking at a press conference recently about the outcomes of this 19th National Congress at their Embassy headquarters, he stated that they would focus on what is best not just for the citizens of China, but also for the citizens of the countries of whom they plan on developing relations with which would result in a mutually beneficial partnership.
“It aims to build a new type of international relations and promote the building of a community with shared future for mankind, which is also that the general direction toward which China hopes to make joint efforts with other countries. The essence of building a new type of international relations is to blaze a new trail for exchanges between countries.”
This relationship would also focus on attaining the promotion of peaceful relations, further development, respect and justice, stated the Chargé d’Affaires.
“China will hold high the banner of peace, development and win-win cooperation, follow its foreign policy’s purpose of upholding world peace and promoting common development, and steadfastly develop friendly cooperation with other countries on the basis of the ‘Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence’ in order to advance a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice and win-win cooperation.”
He stated that these things would be imperative to ensuring that the various countries can find solutions to the various problems that we face in the world today.
“To build a community with a shared future for mankind is to build an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world of lasting peace. As the banner that China’s diplomacy upholds in the new era, it answers the key question of where the human society is going, provides Chinese solutions to various global challenges facing the international community.”
Xi stated that this would be the case regardless of the size and economic status of the nation.
“China will continue to uphold the principle of global governance featuring extensive consultation; joint contribution and shared benefits; advocate the democracy in international relations and insist that countries, big and small, rich or poor, should be all equal. China will continue to support the positive role of the United Nations and support the expansion of greater representation and say of developing countries.”
