Kim Tudor launches innovation challenge

Young entrepreneurs living in the St. Michael North constituency now have the chance to get some of the funds needed to get their business off the ground.

This as Democratic Labour Party Candidate for the area Kim Tudor officially launched a business innovation challenge where the winner would take home $2 000 for their proposal.
“It must be an innovative business idea, and we are going to get you off the ground and get you started. So that money is to help you set up a business plan and do some other things and we will work with you step by step to make that a reality,” she outlined, noting that the prize also included mentorship sessions.

Speaking to members of the media on Saturday at her constituency office, Tudor said her campaign was also looking to recognise the women who were unsung heroes in the district.
“We are looking at the women who are unsung heroes for the most part, who we want to recognise and encourage them to keep the flames burning in this constituency,” she stated.
Pointing out that Eden Lodge and Grazettes especially had been well known for sports, she highlighted the closure of two of the community centres, signalling that having these facilities reopened would be one of her main priorities.

“St. Michael North has been known for its sports… and when I go around people are lamenting that it is a legacy that is passed. My aim is to work with people in this community to restore that legacy so that people will be coming to Eden Lodge and coming to Grazettes and Philip’s Road and the other areas again for sporting activities and we already have that in train,” she added.
