AS this nation continues to come to grips with Saturday’s brutal slaying of a 36-year-old mother of two, the Catholic Church has extended its condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
Deceased is Onica King of Lead Vale, Christ Church, who received multiple stab wounds on her body after being involved in an altercation with a man while at her job in Swan Street.
Her children were present during the incident.
Co-ordinator of the Family and Youth Commission of the Roman Catholic Church, Father Clement Paul, said the church was “shocked and saddened” by the incident.
“Be assured that our members will be praying for you and will continue to be concerned about your ongoing comforting,” he said in a press release.
Paul also pleaded with persons to be respectful of life.
“While we struggle to deal with this tragedy, we must remain committed to the respect for life. Remember, respect for life is due to every individual,” he stated.
Meanwhile, police have issued a wanted notice for David King, Onica’s 46-year-old husband.
