There will be something different about 2019 Oistins Fish Festival as it goes under new leadership.
This was announced by Member of Parliament for Christ Church South, Ralph Thorne during the tour of the Berinda Cox Fish Market yesterday. He was responding to questions from the media on the plans for his constituency and mentioned this change.
Thorne explained that Stella Lady St. John will remain as a consultant and Oistins Fish Festival Committee Member, Herbie Yearwood is still on board. But it was announced there will be original input for the event.
“There are new, younger and fresher minds and bodies managing the festival this year,” said Thorne.
He pointed out that at the start of the Festival in 1977, it was a major event which was well attended. He noted the need to return the Oistins Fish Festival to this stage.
“We want to return the festival to its glory days, ” said Thorne.
