Speaking on the evolution of the resort from its 100-plus rooms beginnings, its demolition in 2001 and the opening of the new 350-room plant in 2005, Acting Minister of Tourism Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner congratulated the Needham’s Point hotel on its excellence in service, aptly shown in its most recent achievement.
The resort won six prestigious awards including 2015 Hotel of the Year, Genius of the ‘And’, Global Team Members’ Survey, Best Employers (Large Category) and World Luxury Spa. Meanwhile, Director of Human Resources Cheryl Corbin won the Change Champion of 2015 Award.
“All of (these) point to operational efficiency, outstanding management and team member engagement, as well as premium customer service,” she stated.
“Hilton Barbados is a beacon in this industry, an exemplary hotel and a genuine inspiration to those who are working in the hotel sector. I sincerely congratulate you one and all and urge you not to repose in these achievements, but to continue to push your hotel to even higher heights,” the Senator added.
She made the comments during the Hilton’s dinner and awards ceremony on Friday night.
Lauding the work of his staff and management team, General Manager George Stanfield stated that the hotel would continue to push excellence throughout its various departments, especially as the country moves into its Golden Jubilee celebrations.
“The only one who can make the entire team successful is the one serving the guest. We have a fantastic team here at the Hilton, who know how to do their jobs and are committed to giving their all to ensure that everything is as perfect as it can be,” he said. (JMB)
