This Christmas season will be extra special at Simpson Motors Limited where ‘Christmas Wonderland’ will be staged once again.
This event was last held 12 years ago, and it is being staged this year in celebration of Barbados’ 50th anniversary of Independence. On the evenings of December 9 to 11, the showroom of the Warrens, St. Michael company will be transformed.
Speaking at the recent relaunch of ‘Christmas Wonderland’, Chief Executive Officer of Simpsons Motors Limited, Debbie Simpson said members of the public can expect an occasion with a difference.
“Our showroom will be completely transformed into something that you have never, ever seen before. Our past Wonderlands all together… none of those can live up to [this] standard. If the weather permits, we will have some snow and we also have some other exciting things for children outside. We have a lovely ride.”
She additionally stated that it was following consultations with staff – who volunteer their time – that the decision was taken to host the upcoming edition of the Christmas Wonderland.
Admission will be free to children under the age of 16; while individuals over this age will be asked to a make a small monetary donation at the door.
Simpson explained that these funds will be collected by members of the Cancer Society of Barbados, the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Diabetes Association of Barbados.
Refreshments will be on sale at stalls manned representatives of the Lions and Kiwanis Clubs of Barbados and The Optimists.
“Our concept here is not only are we wanting to give back to Barbadians, but we also want to make sure that there are very important charities that are involved and could benefit,” Simpson added.
She further said, “We are very excited. We feel very privileged to have the opportunity to do something like this to give back. Our company is founded on Biblical principles and we really believe that everything we do should be family centred. So Christmas Wonderland is really and truly what we are all about, getting families together, having wholesome entertainment, and we thought it was a fitting way to end the year and to end the year’s 50th anniversary celebrations.”
