Members of the Prayer Warriors International Foundation, are praying for peace and prosperity, during the year of 2020, as they too have happily joined the We Gatherin celebrations.

With a theme of “We Gatherin for prayer in one accord March 4, 2020,” members of the group held an almost 12-hour event in Jubilee Gardens Bridgetown, to lead Barbadians in worship and reflection during this special national exercise.

During the event last Wednesday, Barbadians were invited to post their prayer requests on a prayer wall that was set up on site.

Project Coordinator of We Gatherin’ 2020, Selma Green, said the yearlong celebrations, will involve all Barbadians coming together to celebration nationhood, and to have fellowship with each other.

“We will celebrate all things Barbadian as we showcase the icons and the heritage, social life and food for which each parish is known, well renowned. We will also take time out to reflect on where we are at this moment in time, to reconnect with the values and traditions that represent who we are as very proud Bajans. To restore our sense of national pride, and to recommit to developing an exceptional Barbados. In 2020, we want to deepen the connection between Barbadians who live at home, and who live abroad in the diaspora, we want to grow and diversify the economy and empower Barbadian communities through enterprise,” she said.

Minister of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, Senator Kay McConney, also took part in the morning’s proceedings as she shared a word of prayer those who were gathered, wishing that prosperity, respect, and camaraderie envelopes the island during the year of celebration. (SB)
