Mark Boyce of the Barbados Emergency Ambulance Service received a token of appreciation from KEFA executive director Katrina Alleyne.
THE Katrina Endometriosis Fund Association (KEFA) continued to show its appreciation to those who are at times unrecognised in the healthcare sector, but who perform an invaluable role particularly to those affected by gynaecological conditions.
Earlier this week, members of the association led by Executive Director Katrina Alleyne, recently made a quarterly donation to the Gynaecological Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The association adopted the ward last year following its Endodrive Project back in 2018. Alleyne stressed that the association focuses not only on women affected by endometriosis but any gynaecological complication. Nurses were treated to chocolates and cupcakes which featured uplifting messages and the KEFA logo.
“We extended it to the antenatal section and also to the nursing office. Acknowledging the nurses on Ward B4 was long overdue. Huge thanks goes out to Brydens Stationery, the Miato Foundation, Aniya the Cake Princess and to all those who made it possible,” she said. Yesterday the association also paid a visit to the paramedics who were also presented with delectable treats.
