A comprehensive “One People One Barbados Human Chain” security and traffic plan was presented in a briefing by Senior Superintendent Antonio Forte and other senior members of the Royal Barbados Police Force.

Senior Supt. Forte shared information concerning the general traffic management, including traffic control points; the motor cycle and mobile patrols; drop off points, parking, and other areas important to the security and smooth running of the One People One Barbados Human Chain on Monday November 28, 2016.

“It is fantastic to see the proactive role that the Royal Barbados Police Force is playing in the success of the One People One Barbados Human Chain!”, said Deputy Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Joy Adamson. She added, “Persons can participate in the One People One Barbados Human Chain knowing that there will be a strong police and security presence.”

A command centre is to be at District A Police Station, and all key operations relating to the One People One Barbados Human Chain will be managed from this centre.

Senior Supt. Forte has encouraged persons to get into the positions where they are to be joining hands in the chain, from as early as 7 am on Monday November 28. He said, “Coordinating 92 000 plus persons is not an easy task, although they will not be confined to a single location. This is bigger than any other event, and will have the largest participant of any occasion since the 1979 Human Chain Link!”
