God will always supply our needs.

Canon Noel Titus gave this message during the church service at St. Matthias Anglican Church yesterday.

The religious leader, referring to the experience of the prophets, emphasised that if Christians trust in God, the Almighty will help them to do his will. He added another lesson of the prophets’ ordeal is that the people of God are never alone.

Canon Titus cited the allegorical religious poem “Footprints in the Sand”, which describes a person seeing two pairs of footprints in the sand. The narrative notes that the two pairs of footprints become one.

“Then (the protagonist) asked, ‘How is it Lord that I can only see one set of footprints at certain times; how is it at especially the very lowest and saddest times there was only one set of footprints?’

“And the Lord’s answer came to him, ‘When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then I carried you,’” said Canon Titus.

‘Accept your role’

The preacher also noted that for people, the key to serving in any capacity is to accept one’s role.

He added that Christians must have the confidence that God will help them.

Canon Titus told the congregation that sometimes it is difficult to accept the role that one has to play. He explained that, naturally, people want something else and want what other persons have because they believe they can do better.

“If we do not accept the role that we have, (it) will lead to dissatisfaction and disgruntlement and a lot of things will not get done because of that,” he noted.

The Anglican religious leader also reminded individuals with leadership roles in the church that personal integrity is the best foundation

for a life of service. He noted that to ignore it is to court disaster over time.

He said it is important to be the best we can be and to offer the most sincere service leaving the rest in the hands of God.
