Members of the Social Club of Sagicor General Insurance are among those ensuring that the children in the Paediatric Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) are not forgotten this Christmas season.

The staff members of the Insurance company last weekend donated a 32-inch television, for entertainment of the hospitalised children in wards C7 and C8, as well as a DVD player and electrical fan.

Vice-President of the SGI Social Club, Charmaine Walters-Burke said they wanted to make a contribution, in keeping with their desire to spread joy during the Yuletide season, and they chose the Paediatric Unit.
“This could be a challenging time for our young ones in hospital and we felt the need to bring a bit of cheer to those children who will have to spend the Christmas Holidays recovering from illnesses in hospital”, she said.

Nurses attached to the Paediatric unit (wards C7 and C8) accepted the gifts on behalf of the children, while thanking the members of the SGI Social Club, and said that the gifts would be put to
year-round good use.
